Lauren Koslow Not Leaving 'Days'
Lauren Koslow Not Leaving 'Days'
Confronted by massive internet buzz of her firing, Days of our Lives actress Lauren Koslow cleared the air in an interview with Soap Opera Weekly, and debunked all the rumors that have been plaguing the world wide web since late last month.

"Not only am I staying, but I've heard a little bit about a story that's coming up," Koslow, known for portraying Kate on Days of our Lives, told the soap magazine.

When the rumors first began to spread, a number of Lauren Koslow's fans reportedly took action by setting up online petitions and bombarding NBC's soap's production office with protest letters and complaints.  While Koslow nor NBC had neither confirmed nor denied the rumors at the time, the reports seemed highly plausible, considering the show had, in recent weeks, been bringing down the axe quite often.

Among the Days of our Lives cast members who have been let go are Julie Pinson (Billie), Judi Evans (Adrienne), Martha Madison (Belle) and Brandon Beemer (Shawn).

Lauren Koslow has been on Days of our Lives since 1996.  Her previous soap credits include CBS' The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

While the show has fired a number of key cast members, it has also made a couple of high-profile hirings, albeit in guest-starring capacities.  The Partridge Family's Shirley Jones recently had a brief but significant run on Days of our Lives, playing Colleen Brady, and now, the daytime drama is bringing back actress Patsy Pease for a limited run.

Pease, who debuted as Kimberly Brady in 1984, will be returning for two episodes beginning Wednesday, February 27.

"My relationship with the fans is what has meant the most to me," Pease told Soap Opera Digest.  "When they write and tell me that it feels like there's a hole in the Brady family, then I want to come back.  I am very protective of the loyal following I have.  If they're feeling down about a storyline, I want to go in there and contribute something to make them feel happy.  Their happiness means a great deal to me."
