Joseph Mascolo Out of 'Days of Our Lives' Indefinitely
Here's some breaking news straight from Soap Opera Digest – Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and the rest of the good Salem folk won't have to worry about Stefano DiMera anymore.  The word is that Joseph Mascolo, the burly and effectively menacing Stefano on Days of Our Lives, will be out of any upcoming storylines for the time being.

Speaking of Deidre Hall, the longtime Days of Our Lives star is currently on a mission to bring the brilliance of Eckhart Tolle, who penned the Oprah Book Club selection, A New Earth, to more people via CLOUT! with Richard Greene on Air America Radio.  But first, more on our breaking story about Joseph Mascolo's status on Days of Our Lives.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Soap Opera Digest reports that a spokesperson for the long-running daytime drama has informed them that Mascolo's character will remain in the comatose state he's in indefinitely.

"Stefano is still in a coma and that's where he will remain for now," the Days of Our Lives spokesperson allegedly told Soap Opera Digest.

When Soap Opera Digest spoke to the actor about the news, Mascolo was reportedly displeased with the turn of events.

"I'm just so disappointed in them," Mascolo reportedly said in the interview, which is featured in its entirety in the May 27 issue of Soap Opera Digest, which is out Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in far more pleasant fare, Mascolo's Days of Our Lives co-star, Deidre Hall is co-hosting a 10-week web seminar or webinar, which began May 12 and will run until July 14.  The webinars are meant to bring Eckhart Tolle's first book, The Power of Now, to radio listeners.

Each installment of the 10-week Power of Now web seminar series will include a minimum of 20 minutes devoted to Eckhart Tolle himself, reading the text of the book.  There will then be live commentary from several people including Days of Our Lives' Deidre Hall, who also happens to be an Eckhart Tolle student.
