Days of our Lives: July 7 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: July 7 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives begins in mid-kiss between Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) and Daniel (Shawn Christian).  The lights just went off in the middle of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope's (Kristian Alfonso) Fourth of July party, and Chelsea and Daniel took that opportunity to start making out.  When the lights come back on, Bo starts steaming when he sees Daniel kissing his daughter.  Kate (Lauren Koslow) sees them too, and then passes out.

Downstairs in the DiMera mansion, John (Drake Hogestyn) and Ava let marlena (Deidre Hall) in, and she is saddened to see that he destroyed everything.  Sami (Alison Sweeney) runs around looking for Lucas, but he is nowhere to be found.  Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) is actually stuck in an elevator making out with Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin).  Also stuck in an elevator are EJ (James Scott) and Nicole, who are doing more than making out, if you get my drift.  EJ really puts a damper on things when he calls Nicole by Sami's name.  EJ apologizes sincerely, and they get back to kissing.

Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) watch and distracts Max (Darin Brooks) as he closes up the pub before going up to Bo and Hope's party.  Nick (Blake Berris) comes over because Max needs some help tracking down some information from Trent, the identity of the girl in his photograph.  Nick has a plan.  He calls Trent over to the pub and makes up an excuse about needing a ride back to campus because his car broke down.  He "accidentally" bumps into Trent, and picks his pockets, stealing his cellphone.  He sees that Trent has called an international number a lot of the past couple of weeks.  Max calls the number, and a young girl's voice says, "Dad?"

Chloe pauses her makeout session with Lucas to think about whether they should stop.  Lucas says that he's sick of watching Sami being in love with EJ, and it just feels so right with Chloe.  Chloe, on the other hand, feels like she is betraying Philip, which makes Lucas start to feel more guilty.

Elsewhere, instead of gettin' it on, EJ and Nicole discuss his unfailing politeness.  EJ's classiness is what draws her to him.

Daniel tends to Kate as Victor (John Aniston) scolds Chelsea for kissing Daniel.  Lexie (Renee Jones) is not happy about Chelsea kissing Daniel, since she and Daniel had like a two-minute emotional affair as well.  Kate comes to and gets up, ordering Chelsea to come and talk with her privately.  Kate cuts right to the chase, and tells Chelsea that Daniel is not right for her.  He's going to hurt her, and that's why Kate wants her to break up with him.  Lexie also takes Daniel aside and reprimands him for starting a relationship with Chelsea.

Marlena is devastated that John destroyed the lab equipment because there is no going back from this.  She curses him and slaps him, but he remains calm.  She yells at him, calling him a hateful man, a shadow of the man she once loved.  He gets momentarily remorseful for hurting her, but Ava assures him that he did the right thing.  Marlena goes upstairs to find Sami searching for Lucas' ankle monitor.  Marlena tells Sami that she's lost John for good.  John and Ava come upstairs and Sami bitches him out for hurting her mother and for throwing away his chances.  Mother and daughter also bitch out Ava, calling her a murderer and a kidnapper.  John is just glad because he is now in control of his own destiny.  John and Ava excuse themselves to go upstairs, and Sami sputters with indignation.  Sami wants the two of them to take the twins somewhere where there is air conditioning, and Marlena suggests the Salem Inn, which might have backup power during the blackout.  However, Marlena wants to stay home, so it'll just be Sami walking in on both EJ and Lucas with their respective woman.  Instead, Marlena goes downstairs to contemplate the damage to the lab and the end of old John.  She sees the broken disc on the ground.  She whispers herself that she's not giving up on him and won't let him give up.

Meanwhile, John and Ava take their party upstairs and toast to the ushering in of a new era, the era of John Black DiMera.

In the elevator at the Salem Inn, EJ and Nicole zip up their pants after doing the nasty in the elevator.  EJ helps her with her clothes on and tells her about how great a catch she is and how she deserves an incredible man, and they start kissing again.

Next door, Chloe and Lucas are still kissing.  They decide that neither has any doubts, so they get undressed to have the sex.  Later on, they finish up and get dressed.  Lucas ponders running away to South America to escape more prison time.  If he gets caught, they will throw him in jail forever.

Sami brings the twins over to the Salem Inn, but the hotel is in temporary lockdown because of the power outage.  The desk clerk calls the fire department to get the people stuck in the elevators out.  Uh oh.  We all know where this is going, don't we?

Next on Days of our Lives: Lucas and Chloe kiss, Stephanie is excited that Max might have a sister, Sami catches EJ and Nicole in the elevator.
