Days of our Lives
begins today at the Cheatin' Heart. Chelsea (Rachel Melvin
), Nick (Blake Berris
), Stephanie (Shelley Hennig
) and Max (Darin Brooks
) are celebrating that Chelsea's legal nightmares are over. However, Morgan shows up to report that the sorority girls are not quite so happy with Chelsea.
Back in New Ross, Ireland, Marlena (Deidre Hall
) tells everyone that John is missing after trying to kill Colleen. She begins to tell her fellow Salemites about the shocking news she learned regarding John's parentage. Meanwhile, in an undisclosed location, John (Drake Hogestyn
) contemplates his knife.
Morgan is indignant that Chelsea broke her sacred vow that she made with the sorority sisters to keep Ford's death a secret. Chelsea's fate as a sorority chick is just up to her, it's up to all the sisters, and there will be another vote. Stephanie is indignant that Morgan is accusing Chelsea of backstabbing the girls. Morgan actually looks pretty conflicted about turning on Chelsea like this, and Max asks to speak to her in private. Chelsea suspects that the girls just want her out of the house in order to erase the memories of that awful night. Nick reassures her that she doesn't need the sorority.
Still in Ireland, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) gets a call from an opera company in Austria, offering her an understudy role for Salome. She turns it down because she doesn't want to be no stinkin' understudy, but Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson
) thinks it's because she is guiltier than she is letting on about Brady's disappearance and can't risk going back to Austria. He asks whether she's going to go back to Brady and try to save their marriage after he is found. Chloe admits that she and Brady love each other, but sometimes love isn't enough.
Marlena shares with Belle (Martha Madison
), Bo (Peter Reckell
), Hope (Kristian Alfonso
), Steve (Stephen Nichols
) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans
) that Colleen is John's mother. Belle figures out something that I missed on yesterday's Days of our Lives
: Colleen is her grandmother. But Colleen is also Shawn's (Brandon Beemer
) great-aunt. So that means that Shawn and Belle are...my head is spinning. The men-folk head out to look for John.
Belle goes up to Colleen's room to check on her. Colleen takes her medallion necklace off and gives it to Belle. Uh oh, she's giving away prized possessions. This doesn't bode well. Hope wants to tell Grandpa Shawn about everything, but feels a little dizzy as she gets up. Maybe she is the one who is sick, instead of Bo. Grandpa joins Belle and Colleen in her room and asks if she'll be coming back to Salem with the rest of the family. She won't, though, because she's dying.
Bo finds John outside with the knife to his throat. he tries to talk Joh out of killing himself, but John feels that there is nothing to live for because he failed in his mission. Finally, Bo attempts to wrestle the knife away from him, but winds up face-to-face with the pointy end. John can't get himself to kill Bo because he's not the target, so Bo quickly gains control of the knife. John says blankly that he just wants peace, and he chose not to kill Colleen. Bo lets John go or stay or whatever he pleases, but not before making one last attempt to convince him that he has a good life in Salem with people who love him very much.
Meanwhile, Steve, who had been looking for John as well, gets a call from Kayla and they make small talk about how Bo is dying. Oh no! Not dying! Say it ain't so! Not that anyone ever stays dead. Shawn and Philip overhear him, but they don't know that it's about Bo.
Bo comes back to the Aubin B&B with John in tow and tells Marlena about how he tried to commit suicide. She tells him about all the things he has a lot to live for, but all John is concerned with is throwing back shots. She wants him to agree to let her hypnotize him when they get back to Salem. Grandpa Shawn interrupts everyone to announce that Colleen would like to see all of them up to her room.
Next on Days of our Lives
: John mouths off to his mum, who unleashes her Irish fury back at him.
