Days of our Lives: February 19 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: February 19 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives continues today with Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) still tending to Bo (Peter Reckell).  After many shocks from the automatic emergency defibrillator, Bo's heart starts again and he wakes up with a start.  Hope and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) tell him the bad news that Pop didn't make it.  A little way's away, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tries to take care of Steve (Stephen Nichols), but she doubles over in pain herself.  Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) is pinned under some debris so he has to detach his prosthetic leg.  John (Drake Hogestyn) shoots another flare into the sky, as Claire talks cutely about making igloos "just like the Eskimos."  I have to give Claire the award for cutest kid on a soap.  She really is adorable.

Meanwhile, all the homebound Salemites of Days of our Lives are trying their best not to panic.  Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) and Max (Darin Brooks) bicker as Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) tries to intervene.  Lexie (Renee Jones) and Abe (James Reynolds) hug.  Roman (Josh Taylor) gets the bad news that a rescue team can't get over there to search for them until the next day, and he indulges in a little outburst which earns him a talking-to from Abe.  Caroline (Peggy McCay), Victor (John Aniston) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) show up at the police station to get the scoop from Abe.  Even Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) hears the news of the missing party.

Everyone in Salem is terribly worried, especially since they won't hear anything from the rescue team until the next day.  Caroline knows that there is something they can all do until then, though, and that is to go to St. Luke's and pray.  Victor and Kate sit on a pew musing about prayer and hope that the only child they have left who has not left town or got himself imprisoned is still alive.  Caroline leads everyone through a recitation of the Lord's Prayer.

Somewhere in Greenland, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) makes her way over to Kayla and Steve and offers to help.  Shawn and John carry Steve somewhere warmer.  Marlena examines him and discovers that he has a few broken ribs and an elevated heartrate.

Shawn sits off by himself to cry about his grandfather, and Belle comforts him.  Chloe and Philip find some tents and survival kits in the wreckage and set them up.  John just wants to get a good night's sleep, much to Marlena's disappointment.  What, she's expecting him to all of a sudden become a hero?  But then, here comes little Claire Bear, who walks up and gives him a good-night hug; John bends down to oblige the little girl.  Marlena remarks in awe at how good John is with his granddaughter.  Eh, maybe there's hope for him after all.  Just when we think he might be making a breakthrough, John offers to keep Marlena warm throughout the night, but uses it as an excuse to cop a feel.

Chloe and Philip try to get warm together, and Chloe asks him if he'd rather have Belle with him right now.  Let it go, Chloe!  Philip says that they have to take their clothes off and snuggle together in order to prevent from freezing to death.  Suuuure, right.  I'm on to ya, Philip!  *wink!*  Naturally, this leads to kissing.  Also kissing are Shawn and Belle.  Belle says that they actually have a lot to be thankful for and she wants them to remain a family.  Shawn agrees.

And woah, nothing like a disaster on the frozen tundra to get your libido going.  Marlena finally gives in to John's lascivious pawing.  Everyone else, besides these three couples who are totally doin' it, settles in for a long, cold night.
