Aside from starring on the soap Days of our Lives
, Julie Pinson
has other interests that keep her preoccupied. Inspired by her late aunt, she has gradually improved her kitchen skills and has now become an expert in making scrumptious tortes.
"I'm not much cooking-wise, but I'm a huge baker. That's my thing. I love to bake. I decorate cakes as a hobby," Pinson, who is eager to whip up new dishes now that her kitchen has been totally renovated, told Soap Opera Digest
. "I was so happy I was able to make a cake for a friend's baby shower, a few months ago. That makes me really happy."

Sparked from an early age, her interest in the art of baking has grown into a passion that she still takes pride in up to now.
"When I got older, about 15 years ago, my roommate and I here in L.A. decided, on a whim, to take a cake-decorating class," she explained. "So I got back into it, and I love it. I would love to go further. I want to learn how to do really difficult stuff.”
"Baking and decorating cakes is kind of my art. The good thing about this kind of art is you get to eat it and it tastes really good. That's what attracted me to it in the first place. It's because I love sweets so much," the 39-year-old actress, who plays Billie Reed on Days of our Lives
Prior to Days of our Lives
, Pinson was best known for her role as Dr. Eve Lambert Collins Thornhart on Port Charles
, a role she played from 1997 until her character was killed off in 2002. She was also cast as record producer Shiloh on The Young and the Restless
