It's only been a few weeks since it was announced that actress Julie Pinson
is leaving Days of our Lives
, but it seems the show has not been hesitant to let the axe come swiftly down on two other cast members.
The latest to be cut from Days of our Lives
are none other than supercouple Brandon Beemer
and Martha Madison
. The two, who play husband-and-wife Shawn Brady and Belle Black-Brady on the daytime drama, have been released from their contracts in a “storyline-dictated” move.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
“Wow. I can't believe how fast word travels," Madison said in a recent post on her official web site. "I have been bombarded with emails and [messages] asking if it's true [that] Brandon and I have been let go from the show. I'm sorry/sad to say that we have, in fact, been released from our contracts. It was explained to us on Friday that this was a storyline dictated move by the writers, and that, at this time, we were free to move on to other work. We have both been incredibly grateful for the time that we've had here, and we will still be taping for the next few weeks."
Brandon Beemer also expressed his sentiments on his and Martha Madison's termination on his own official website.
"Sad to say that it's true," Beemer said. "The show's decision was very unexpected, but it's always something that comes with the territory. I'll write more when I get more info."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Days of our Lives
confirmed the news to soapcentral.com.
"Yes, it is true," the spokesperson said. "We are very sad to see them go."
Contradictory to what Madison claims is the cause of their firing, a source told soapcentral.com that the actors were terminated because of financial issues and that the decision to let them go was made by executive producer Ken Corday.
Martha Madison has been playing Belle since 2004, taking over the role from Charity Rahmer, who temporarily replaced Kirsten Storms
). Brandon Beemer, on the other hand, joined the cast in 2006. It is unknown at this time when their final air dates will be.
