Taye Diggs was born on January 2, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. He studied in Syracuse University where he got a degree in musical theater. He got his break from the award winning play Rent. From this point, he landed a spot in the soap opera Guiding Light. Eventually, he made his film debut in How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Presently, he is part of the series Day Break as Brett Hopper.
