Emmitt Smith Biography:
Born on May 15, 1969 in Pensacola, Florida, Emmitt Smith is a former Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys football player who built a highly successful career over the years, with recognitions such as NFL Most Valuable Player, The NFL rushing crown, and the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award to his name. His professional record includes 166 career touchdowns, which puts him, as of 2007, ahead of all running backs in NFL history. In 2002, he took the title of NFL's all-time rushing leader from Walter Payton, who also happened to be his ultimate football hero. Smith is most known for his competitive streak, excellent running and catching skills and playing at the 1994 regular season finale with a first-degree shoulder separation. Smith retired from the NFL in 2005 and went on to do other projects, such as becoming a studio analyst for NFL Total Access and a judge for the Miss Universe 2006. He is married to former Miss Virginia, Patricia Southall.
Also in 2006, Smith was asked to participate in the third season of the ABC reality series, Dancing with the Stars. He was paired with dancer,
Cheryl Burke , and his graceful moves and fancy improvisation helped him and Burke to win the competition. During the competition, Smith was hailed for incorporating a sense of masculinity into dancing.
