Iron Chef America host Mark Dacascos and former NFL star Michael Irvin tried to improve their dance scores each week but sadly their efforts weren't enough to keep them in the running on Dancing with the Stars. On Tuesday night, both players were sent home in a double-elimination, leaving the show with its final five contestants. Still, both were amazed at how far they made it in the competition thanks to their loyal fanbase.
"We have great love out here," Irvin, who was paired with Anna Demidova in the game for seven weeks, told People after being eliminated on Dancing with the Stars. "The voters kept us in. We were scoring 13s and 14s. That makes you feel great!"

"I'm happy I met her," Irvin said about his partner Demidova. "I'll miss her more than anything."

Unlike Irvin, Dacascos was able to compete in the dance-off, which pitted him against fellow contestant Aaron Carter, who defeated him in the end.

"Would I trade the experience? Heck, no!" says Dacascos. "It was one of the best professional experiences I've had in my life!"

Dacascos also had a tough week since his professional dance partner Lacey Schwimmer caught a flu and was able to perform Monday night.

"I probably shouldn't have come here today and danced but I begged to be here," Schwimmer said. "There was no way I was going to let him leave on a sour note. We danced one last time."
