To the surprise of many, Lil' Kim and professional dance partner Derek Hough became the ninth couple eliminated from Dancing with the Stars' eighth season during Tuesday's live results show broadcast on ABC. The rapper earned tepid praise for her dancing debut but quickly emerged as one of the frontrunners of the competition, making her way to the final five. Unfortunately, rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, whom many believed should have been sent home, escaped elimination by surpassing Lil' Kim in audience votes.

Despite the shock and disappointment, Lil' Kim revealed she had the time of her life on Dancing with the Stars.

"That's like the best thing that's ever happened," Lil' Kim said during a Tuesday night Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance that followed her Dancing with the Stars ouster.

"It's always shocking and you're always upset when you get eliminated," said Derek Hough, who also appeared on Kimmel.  "But I think that she proved herself -- every single week -- how amazing she was.  She was great."

But Lil' Kim's elimination wasn't the only shocker.  Evidently, Hough "thought he was going to get cut" when he first learned that he'd be paired up with the badass rapper who'd spent time in jail.

"When I first saw it was Lil' Kim, I was nervous," Hough admitted to "I was like, 'I think I'm going to get shanked in the middle of a dance.' I'm serious. But the second she walked in there she was like a beam of energy, so sweet and so nice. As the weeks went by, I just love her more and more and more, and I'm really excited to spend some time with her without teaching her and drilling her."

Meanwhile, Dancing with the Stars fans can catch the remaining four celebrities on the show, consisting of Ty Murray, Gilles Marini, Melissa Rycroft and Shawn Johnson.
