This is one of a series of brief articles meant to introduce the DWTS viewer to each of the season 13 celebrities. Until Dancing with the Stars begins and we get our TV introductions, this will have to do!
Why You Know HimCarson Kressley is still best known for the show that first brought him television fame,
Queer Eye, where he offered fashion advice to the sartorially challenged. Since then, Carson has appeared on a number of specials and reality shows, including the Miss Universe pageant,
How to Look Good Naked,
Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants,
Big Brother Australia and
True Beauty.
As of this year, Carson Kressley also has his own show,
Carson Nation, airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
If you're into horses, you might know Carson as an exhibitor of American Saddlebred horses. But probably not.
Why He's on Dancing with the StarsRumors have indicated that Carson Kressley was a last-minute replacement on the show, filling in when Ryan O'Neal canceled. Whatever the case, it's likely that he's looking at the stint as an opportunity to draw attention to his new television endeavors.
Dancing/Performance ExperienceAlthough Carson is pretty much charisma personified, he hasn't actually performed very much. On the other hand, it's not hard to picture the man taking easily to dancing.
DWTS PotentialAs one of the few openly-gay celebrities to appear on
Dancing with the Stars, Carson Kressley might have a hard time winning over some parts of the
DWTS audience. Still, he's likable and charming and might actually be a decent dancer. Basically, Carson is a toss-up.
