Kym Johnson started dancing at the age of two. Her knack for dancing eventually brought her to a career in professional ballroom dancing, being paired with Latvian Tomas Atkocevicius. Her expertise in dancing also brought her to several events and film projects like
Burn the Floor,
Strictly Ballroom, Blade Runner and performing at Elton John’s birthday party. Prior to her retirement in 2001, she became a finalist on the United Kingdom Ballroom Championships at Blackpool and an Australian Amateur Ballroom and Latin champion. She was also hailed champion of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars season two and three.
