After winning the ABC reality show
Dancing with the Stars twice,
Julianne Hough now sets her sites on the country music scene, as she goes up for Top New Artist honors at this year's Academy of Country Music awards.
Mercury Nashville recording artist Hough, 20, released her self-titled debut album on May, 2008, shooting straight to #1 on the Billboard Country Album chart on its first week.
Hough, who won the fourth and fifth season of
Dancing with the Stars, is up against Atlanta, Georgia-based Zac Brown Band and Grammy nominee Jake Owen.
Fans of Hough can vote for her online on the
CBS website. The 44th Academy of Country Awards will air on CBS on April 5, 8pm.
