'Dancing with the Stars' Week 8 Live Results: Time for Another Upset?

Tonight, we get to see five couples cut down to four. And, after two straight weeks of upset eliminations, it's anybody's guess as to which couples will be among the lucky four.

Not that it's terribly easy to pick a loser after a surprisingly good night during the week 8 performance show. The Instant Dances, seemingly a recipe for ballroom disaster, yielded several excellent performances. We even saw the first 30 from the judges all season! In some cases, the quickly practiced dance was even better than the fully choreographed one.

Who do you expect to leave?
We haven't been doing so well with this lately.

Obviously, the voters at BuddyTV and the voters actually calling in to Dancing with the Stars have differing opinions about elimination fodder. Not many of us here picked either Audrina or Rick as the likely loser in their respective weeks, but that's what happened. Will we do any better this week?

Our elimination prediction poll shows Bristol and Mark as the most likely pair to leave during The Results Show, with 56 percent of the vote. Not far behind them in our predictions are Kurt and Anna, who 39 percent of readers pick for elimination. A small percentage of voters think Kyle and Lacey or Brandy and Maksim might go, but no one has picked Jennifer and Derek for elimination yet.

Will these results match reality? We'll have to wait and see!

Did you miss anything?
That would be bad. But, if you did, there is hope. Relive Monday night's performances with BuddyTV's week 8 performance show recap! It's an excellent resource if you don't remember every single score of the night. I know I don't.

For those too busy, lazy or disinterested to check out the full recap, here are the basics:

In the standard dances, Brandy and Maks took first place with a lovely waltz. They were followed by a tie between Jennifer and Derek and Kyle and Lacey -- each pair received 27 points for their performance. Kurt and Anna and Bristol and Mark tied for last place with 24 points apiece.

During the Instant Dances, Jennifer and Derek took first with a whopping 30 points. Closely following them were Kyle and Lacey with 29 and Brandy and Maks with 28. Kurt and Anna received 24 points for their fun jive, while Bristol and Mark followed with 23 for a samba.

Close results -- the voters will have to speak! And they will do so at some point during The Results Show!

Until the show starts, want to amuse yourself with the DWTS Personality Quiz? It's fun!

The show is starting! Yay! And we get to start with a repeat of Kyle and Lacey's jive from last night. Double yay! I would break something if I tried to fall like they did at the end.

Time for RESULTS!
Just Kyle and Lacey? OK then.
And Kyle and Lacey are SAFE!!!

Kenny Mayne. And shirtless men! That ! is not for the shirtless Len.

We get to watch Dance Center this week! Jerry Rice, Kenny Maine and Len Goodman. I'm enjoying the non-serious bits. Serious stuff? Less so.

"That is a stupid prop! That is not your real hand." - Kenny

Kind of loving Jerry Rice's face spangles. A ballroom dancing comedy show would be amazing, wouldn't it? We need to get one of those.

Darn. They're going away. That was more fun than a bunch of musical performances. But they didn't ask me, so we will now listen to Taio Cruz.

Results of the backstage Rock-Paper-Scissors contest? It looked like Jennifer and Brandy (scissors) beat Kurt (paper) who beat Bristol (rock) who beat Jennifer and Brandy. For the sake of clarity, I kind of hope this doesn't reflect the final results.

Another musical performance? Without results in the middle. Boo! Anyway, it's John Legend and The Roots performing this time.

Time for more RESULTS?

That would be good. Looks like it's going to be Kurt and Anna and Jennifer and Derek getting their results in this round.Week8-InstantJennifer4.jpg

Jennifer and Derek are SAFE!!!

Kurt and Anna remain in jeopardy.

Backstage again. Maks really isn't capable of being civil.

Awwwww... Cute little kids with talent I can't even begin to comprehend!

OK, so we're still waiting on results for Brandy, Bristol and Kurt, right? What am I bet that we get no more results until right at the end of the show? Sigh.

In the meantime, more John Legend.

Ooh! More Dance Center! Yay!

"Nobody comforted me when you kicked my ass off." - Kenny
Are we actually about to get more RESULTS?!? Probably not right away, but it's nice to hope.

Bristol and Mark are SAFE!!!

Brandy and Maks and Kurt and Anna remain in jeopardy until after the commercial.

Back from commercial, it's time for the final results of the night. Umm, wrong show Bruno. Wrong network too. And...Week8-Brandy3.jpg

Brandy and Maks are SAFE!!!

Which means that...

Kurt and Anna have been eliminated!!!
Looks like everyone's pretty sorry to see him go too. I can believe that -- Kurt really does seem like a nice guy. But it was time for him to go this week.

What do you think of the results? Love them? Hate them? Haven't got a clue? Chime in with your reactions and opinions in the comments! And see you next week for the semi-finals!
