ABC has finally set the premiere date of Dancing with the Stars season 9, just several weeks after season 8 wrapped up with Shawn Johnson as the winner. Similar to the fifth season debut of the show in 2007, the new season opener will spread over the course of three consecutive nights beginning with the two-hour performance episode on Monday, September 21 at 8pm ET/PT, followed by the second ninth-season episode which will air the next night in the same 8pm ET/PT timeslot. Then, the season's first one-hour results show will air on Wednesday, September 23 at 8pm ET/PT.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

After kicking off the fifth season, Dancing with the Stars will move into its regular broadcast schedule the following week, with two-hour performance episodes airing every Monday at 8pm ET/PT while the one-hour Results Show will air every Tuesday at 9pm ET/PT.

And while ABC hasn't announced an official cast list for the new season, the first contestant of season 9 has already been leaked. According to Perez Hilton, clothing designer Vera Wang has been tapped to participate next season. Of course, the network hasn't confirmed Wang's casting but "sources are confident in Vera's involvement."

If Wang, who is famous for her wedding gown collection and has made gowns for Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Garner, Sharon Stone, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, is indeed joining Dancing with the Stars, then she just might have a leg up on the competition.

Growing up, Vera Wang trained as a figure skater, and competed at the 1968 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. She was also featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd in the January 1968 issue. However, when she failed to make the US Olympics team, she entered the fashion industry and the rest is history.
