Dancing with the Stars 8: Final Performance Live Thoughts (Page 1/4)
Holy sparkling unitards, Batman!

It's the final night of performances for Dancing with the Stars season 8. Of the 13 original celebrities who started out the season, the only three who are remaining are Gilles Marini, Melissa Rycroft and Shawn Johnson. Although there have been some semi-shocking results throughout the season, the identities of the final three come as completely unshocking news. We all knew right from the first time they all stepped foot on the ballroom dance floor that Gilles, Melissa and Shawn would be the last three standing. So if you happened to have missed every single episode this season since the premiere, it's all good; you can pick up where you left off.

Stay with me tonight as I share with you my live thoughts. Also, you can keep up-to-date with the goings-on of Dancing with the Stars by following BuddyTV's own Dancing with the Stars Twitter.

Live! From Hollywood! This is the finals of Dancing with the Stars!

The Paso Doble Face-Off Round

It's the Paso Doble Punchout, so-called because all three couples will dance the paso head-to-head in the same routine. Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas start things out, and Shawn displays her usual confidence and precision. There is no other dancer quite as reliable and consistent as Shawn is. Immediately, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani continue the routine, and Melissa looks incredibly hot in her bra-hot shorts combo with a long black duster. Last, but not least, Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke finish off the routine. I think I like their costumes the least, and actual, I find their dancing a bit too static at times.

Y'all, this is the best possible final three that you could ever ask for on Dancing with the Stars. Each couple is so strong that it's hard to choose which is the best, and this Paso Face-Off shows just how well they match up against one another. I guess this means that it's down to who has the biggest fanbase.

Len Goodman starts off the judges' critique. He says that Shawn's part was very exciting, and Melissa's was very convincing despite a slight mistake. He also thinks that Gilles' dancing wasn't hectic at all. Bruno Tonioli says that each couple was splendid. Shawn was strong and serious; Melissa was confident and dramatic; and Gilles was a leading man. Carrie Ann Inaba starts her comments by saying that this is her favorite season because of these three. She says that Shawn is consistent, but she didn't have as much of an emotional commitment. Carrie Ann says that Melissa showed her soul, and that Gilles was perfection.

The scores for Shawn Johnson:
Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 10
Total: 28 out of 30

The scores for Melissa and Tony:
