glenn closeOne of Hollywood's most respected actresses, five-time Oscar nominee and three-time Tony winner Glenn Close has rocketed to stardom ever since she played psychotic book editor Alex Forrest in the 1987 thriller Fatal Attraction.  And while she will always be remembered for her chilling roles, she has certainly proven herself worthy of being called a versatile performer as she also has an extensive career performing in numerous Broadway musicals.  For this reason, the 61-year-old actress was honored with a star on Hollywood's "Walk of Fame" on Monday.

Close described her award as a "wonderful, wonderful honor", adding she was delighted to be sharing the famous stretch of sidewalk with some of her childhood heroes.

"To be considered a star is one thing, but to be embedded in the sidewalk with life passing over us, that for me is the best part of this honor," Close said at a ceremony to unveil her award.

At present, Glenn Close is making an impression as attorney Patty Hewes on FX's Damages, a role for which she won her first Emmy last year.  The legal drama began its second season last week.

In tonight's episode of Damages called “Burn it, shred it, I don't care,” Patty (Glenn Close) decides to take Purcell's (William Hurt) case.  However, she begins to suspect that there's more to the case than simple murder since Purcell refuses to tell her everything about it.  Moreover, she also wriggles out of the child-malnutrition suit, leaving Tom (Tate Donovan) in charge of it and frustrating Ellen (Rose Byrne), not to mention agents Harrison (Mario Van Peebles) and Werner.

Meanwhile, Ellen secretly assists the FBI in their attempt to flip Tom Shayes and use him against Patty.  And in a flash-forward, Ellen has a liaison with Wes Krulick (Timothy Olyphant).

Catch Damages tonight at 10pm on FX.
