Cheryl Hines, best known for her role as Cheryl David, Larry David's wife on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, has just been cast on ABC's newly acquired series, In the Motherhood, which is based on the online series of the same name.  The show follows the adventures of three moms, originally played by Chelsea Handler, Leah Remini and Jenny McCarthy, whose exploits are based on real-life stories of moms across the country.

However, not all three actresses will make the transition from web to the TV series.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, only Handler is expected to continue on the ABC series.  On the other hand, Hines and Will & Grace's Megan Mullally have signed on to take over for McCarthy and Remini.

The 13-episode order for In the Motherhood, which was deemed as a possible midseason contender during ABC's upfront presentation in May, comes on the heels of the network's pickup of five new series earlier this month, including Castle, The Unusuals, Cupid, Better Off Ted and Single with Parents.

Serving as writers and executive producers for In the Motherhood are Jennifer Konner and Alexandra Rushfield, who are both credited for their work on Help Me Help You.  Additionally, Stu Bloomberg of Bad Mother's Handbook will also serve as executive producer to the series.

Meanwhile, this casting news doesn't signify the end of Hines' other series, Curb Your Enthusiasm.  In fact, HBO and lead star Larry David have both confirmed a seventh season.  You can read more about it in this previous article.  And while a premiere date hasn't been set, it has been rumored that the new season's story arc will involve Larry getting a part in a Woody Allen movie.  Curb Your Enthusiasm also stars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Richard Lewis and Marty Funkhouser, just to name a few.
