
This season,
CSI: NY has made a big leap by combining both live actors and virtual avatars from the online world
Second Life in the episode “Down the Rabbit Hole.” This installment, which aired on October 24, 2007, sends Mac (
Gary Sinise) into cyberspace to track down an assassin, but his efforts failed towards the end as killer is nowhere to be found.
Though it ends with a cliffhanger, the forensic team finally sheds light on the blurry line between real and virtual crime-solving as they feature a new episode next month.

According to
TV Guide, CBS has just scheduled the final pre-strike episode of
CSI: NY for February 6 called “Playing with Matches.”
Though the premise of this episode hasn't been revealed, viewers will reportedly see a group of street racers, including a book and street smart young man who will do anything it takes to win and a hot, sexy young woman who can beat any man without getting a hair out of place.
This episode also features a geeky, very knowledgeable and oddly calm young man who knows he's smarter than everyone else, a former city employee trying to be the center of attention, a gorgeous, naive social worker, and a media seeking attorney.
Another confirmed spoiler for this particular storyline includes some “serious Danny-Lindsey action” as they work together on a case.
“Playing With Matches” is written by Bill Haynes and directed by Christine Moore. Joining
CSI: NY's main ensemble are guest stars Emmanuelle Vaugier (Det. Jennifer Angell), Bess Wohl (Kendall Novak),
A.J. Buckley (Adam Ross), Robert Joy (Sid) , Jason Chambers (Mercury), Nicole Marie Lenz (Concrete Cowgirl/Sandra), Reid Scott (Seth Riggins), Aaron Behr (Vinnie Parson), Brad Graiff (Attorney), and Christopher Bello (John Szabo).
CSI: NY airs every Wednesday at 10pm ET/PT on CBS.
