Walk backwards, further, further, until you get back to what happened to the latest season of CSI: Miami
. You know, when we unearthed Tara's drug addiction issue, and how she almost broke up Horatio and Kyle by lying about her intake--well, until Ryan found out, let her slip the first time, and eventually gave her up to the police. It's icky, stealing drugs kept as evidence in a murder case.
But what's telling was what happened afterwards--after she was arrested, we heard nothing. Too quiet, in fact, to the point that during the season finale, Megalyn Echikunwoke's name disappeared from the opening credits entirely. And then we asked, is she really gone from the show? Or was it just a one-off?
As it turns out, it seems she's really gone from CSI: Miami
. Take note: "seems". If you were watching Raising the Bar
on TNT, you might've seen her: she did take a recurring role on the drama, and is set for a romance--potentially, on-screen--with J. August Richard's character. A representative for the network said she'll be around for three episodes, at the very least.
There's no official word, however, on whether Echikunwoke has left CSI: Miami
entirely. Her character's fate is still kept loose, and a representative for the network refused to reveal the actress' status on the crime drama. What that representative said, however, was quite telling: "On CSI: Miami
, you never know when someone will return."
I won't speculate, but don't tell me they're trying to bring back Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander) to the show? Not that it's a bad thing--I'm between the tables on this one--but it'd take a lot of explanation. That, or they take someone else altogether...
