Rebecca Howe is played by Kirstie Alley in the award-winning television comedy series Cheers. She starts out as the new manager picked by the bar’s corporate owner, and while eager to please her bosses, she has a difficult time adjusting to the bar’s more down-to-earth inhabitants. She hides behind her no-nonsense and tough demeanor a clumsy and neurotic woman, especially prone to annoying Sam. At one point, because of her heavy smoking, a fire nearly burns down the Cheers bar from one of her stray cigarettes, and she’s forced to use both her life savings and to work as a waitress to get the place back in shape.
