Kelsey Grammer is an award-winning actor, director and producer who was born on February 21, 1955 in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He has won a number of Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for his performances in comedy series such as The Simpsons and Frasier. The son of a bar owner and a singer, his parents divorced when he was very young, leaving him to be raised by his grandparents. He also suffered crises such as the murder of his father, and the rape and murder of his sister. Because of these events, he stopped attending his acting classes at The Juilliard School, though he later resumed his career and worked on a number of television series and films. Among these are X-Men: The Last Stand and the upcoming Simpsons movie.
Dr. Frasier Crane is portrayed by Kelsey Grammer in the award-winning television comedy shows Cheers and its spin-off Frasier. The son of a psychiatrist and a police detective, he is shown to have been a sensitive child while growing up, often being targeted and picked on by bullies. During his visits to the Cheers bar, he is a student of Harvard University, and he gets entangled in a number of marriages and divorces. His story continues in Frasier, where he works as a radio psychiatrist.
