Biography

Born October 5, 1960 in Massapequa, Long Island, three-in-one producer, actor and director Daniel Leroy Baldwin is the second oldest of the four “Baldwin Brothers.”  The other three are actors Alec, Stephen and William.  Raised in a catholic family with two more sisters namely Beth and Jane, Daniel is of Irish and French descent.  He attended McKenna Junior High School and graduated from Alfred G. Berner High School, where he was a standout football player, in 1979.

For two consecutive years since 1993, Daniel Baldwin was a regular on the crime drama TV series Homicide: Life on the Street, where he played Detective Beau Felton.  He was also seen on several TV shows including NYPD Blue, Touched by an Angel, Twice in a Lifetime, Anonymous Rex, The Outer Limits and Family of Cops to name a few.  He made big screen appearances on movies like Accidental Hero, Vampires, Paparazzi, Little Red Devil, Grey Gardens and Shadowheart among many others.

Daniel created buzz in 1998 after being reported for running naked through the halls of Plaza Hotel in New York.  He was arrested after having found of cocaine possession.  He admitted that he's been struggling with cocaine addiction since 1989.  On July 2006, he was again held by police after crashing his Ford Thunderbird into parked cars on L.A. street.  Aside from beating the red light and going 80 mph in a 35 mph zone, he was driving on a suspended license during the incident.  He was sent to UCLA Medical Center for treatment of minor back and neck injuries.

In 2005, he was a contestant on VH1's reality show Celebrity Fit Club , where overweight celebrities compete in losing weight.  He was team captain for “The Eastsiders” group whose members include Biz Markie, Mia Tyler and Joe Gannascloi.

In 2008, Daniel Baldwin appeared on VH1's reality TV series Celebrity Rehab .  The show documents the experiences of celebrities as they undergo drug, alcohol and addiction treatment program.  It chronicles their journey towards rehabilitation and recovery.  However, on the fourth episode of the show, he quitted due to disagreements with fellow celebrity Mary Carey .
