Now that filming has just gotten underway for the second season of
Dr. Drew Pinsky's
Celebrity Rehab, could the new cast already be complete? Or, is there room for more famous faces needing to conquer their demons?
Rumor has it that
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's
Gary Dourdan is the latest addition to the season 2 field. There are unconfirmed reports that the former
CSI star will check into
Celebrity Rehab to hopefully help him kick some habits that landed him in very hot water two months ago.
The
National Enquirer has reported that Dourdan, who essayed the role of
CSI Warrick Brown until the character was fatally shot in last season's finale, is joining the second edition of
Celebrity Rehab. The 41-year old actor was arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin and ecstasy April 28. Police found the ex-
CSI regular asleep in his car, which was allegedly parked on the wrong side of the street somewhere outside of Palm Springs.
A month after being apprehended, Dourdan pleaded guilty to possession of ecstasy and coke, while charges of heroin possession were subsequently dropped. Thanks to the plea bargain, Dourdan escaped having to do any time behind bars. Instead, he was ordered to complete 30 hours of a diversion program, upon completion of which, his entire case will likewise be dismissed.
While
Celebrity Rehab has yet to confirm Gary Dourdan's participation in the new season, the
National Enquirer has reported that producers of the show came up to the actor soon after his plea bargain.
"Gary knows he screwed up, but he wants to stay in the public eye,” a source for the
National Enquirer allegedly said. “He didn't think twice about doing the show.”
Should the former
CSI mainstay actually take part in
Celebrity Rehab, he will join the likes of Rod Stewart's son Sean, former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, police brutality victim Rodney King,
American Idol hopeful
Nikki McKibbin and actress/1980s video vixen Tawny Kitaen. Filming began Monday for season 2, which goes on the air in October.
