TV remakes rarely surpass their original predecessors but CBS'
Hawai Five-O is shaping up to be one hell of a show, thanks to its Whedonverse friendly cast. After enlisting
Lost actor Daniel Dae Kim, who played Gavin Park on
Angel for three years,
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and
Angel alum James Marsters is now coming on board.
Daniel Dae Kim Joins Hawaii Five-O Reboot Marsters, who currently plays cult leader Barnabus Greele on
Caprica, announced the casting news on his
Facebook page. Unfortunately, the
Buffy actor will only be appearing in the pilot as the nemesis of Alex O'Loughlin's (
Moonlight) character--- which should be interesting since both actors have played vampires Spike and Mick respectively on shows that catapulted them to stardom. As of this moment, there is no word yet if Marsters' guest-spot will turn into a potentially recurring role, if and when
Hawaii Five-O gets officially picked up by CBS.
Is the Third Time a Charm for Alex O'Loughlin and CBS? Aside from the aforementioned cast,
Hawaii Five-O also features
Battlestar Galactica's Grace Park and
Entourage's Scott Caan. However, Caan, who takes on the role of Danny "Danno" Williams, will only appear as a guest star since he has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming seventh season of
Entourage.
