After a riveting “Tug of War” on
Brothers and Sisters last week, the series returns this time focusing on the chaotic events in a garage sale. On “Everything Must Go,” the Walker family tries to deal with Nora’s decision to start anew by getting rid of the old.
Thinking of establishing a new charity venture, Nora (
Sally Field) believes it’s time to make a clean sweep of William’s belongings. She opens up a garage sale, hoping that everything that reminds her of her late husband would be taken away. There’s just too much junk stored in the home, as well as in the family’s memories.
Meanwhile, two estranged siblings are brought together by a time capsule. Robert (
Rob Lowe) goes out to interview candidates to fill the shoes of Kitty (
Calista Flockhart). She has officially stepped down from being his communication’s director, because she can no longer contain her excitement regarding her big news. Robert has to find someone to replace her, and he later considers Kevin (
Matthew Rhys).
In addition, the episode also features Holly (
Patricia Wettig), who holds her own investigation regarding the whereabouts of William’s lost son. Everyone has to learn to let go of their pasts, despite still wanting to keep certain issues close. On
Brothers & Sisters, space is essential for both the present and the future.
Last time on the show, everyone’s anger was centered on Kitty. They found out that she wrote a memoir about Robert’s campaign, painting an unpleasant picture of the Walkers.
The regular cast returns, while guest stars on “Everything Must Go” include Marty Ryan, Doug Purdy, and Michelle Ongkingco. Below is a preview of the episode, in which you get to see how the garage sale turns out.
The fourth episode of the second season of
Brothers and Sisters airs on October 19, Sunday, at 10pm on ABC. “Everything Must Go” will be followed next week with the episode “You Get What You Need.”
