After a season finale that divided critics and received flak for failing to meet most expectations, Fox series
Bones crossed the Atlantic to, hopefully, open its fourth season with a bang. Shot in the U.K., the two-hour premiere called “Yanks in the UK” aired last Wednesday, September 3. While there are several unkind reviews, there are also those who found the vigorous stereotyping of
Bones funny and, overall, worth watching. After a dismal season finale, however, critics noted that it had to do much more to save itself.
Part of the enjoyment most
Bones fan get watching the show is seeing the somehow odd coupling of Temperance “Bones” Brennan (
Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (
David Boreanaz). Of course, simplistically, Brennan is seen as the brains in the duo, while Booth is the brawn. When the pair traveled to London, it really was like fish out of water.
Most fans are asking, though, will they or will they not? The tension between the two is almost universally felt, and perhaps it's safe to say most are looking forward to Brennan-Booth hookup. TV Guide caught up with 39-year-old Boreanaz and asked him to shed light on this little romantic possibility.
"We honor and we really support the character work which kind of makes us different from other procedurals out there. We balance it out with the procedural [aspects] and the case. Again, the characters will get closer... and then far away."
Then he went on to reveal something
Bones fans might find delectable.
"I know (series creator) Hart (Hanson) has some ideas for fantasy episodes and getting (Booth and Bones) in bed to some extent."
On the episode, the pair was invited by their British counterparts to London to give a presentation, but end up solving a couple of murder cases.
