Life has been going well for Booth and Brennan. But all that may be about to change in the Bones season 7 finale, "The Past in the Present." What will cause the change?

Christopher Pellant is back.

WARNING: There are a lot of Bones spoilers in these videos. If you don't want to know anything, don't watch them. That should be simple enough, right?

The first of Bones video gives us a look at the evil techno-villain Christopher Pellant, making his creepy return to the show.

It looks like the parole board is considering removing Pellant's ankle monitor, while the Jeffersonian and Caroline Julian are fighting that. You've got to wonder why they're even bothering, of course, considering that this terrifying genius is perfectly capable of leaving home and wreaking havoc with the monitor attached.

Maybe it's the principle of the thing? But whether Christopher Pellant gets his parole or not, the man is scary. That whole evil smile as Booth and Brennan respond to their animal-howling new ringtones proves that we have a full-on villain here.

The second video gives us a look at our murder victim and indicates why Pellant might have chosen animal sounds for those ringtones.

How cool is it that Brennan can identify people based on their old broken bones? Of course, it's probably not so cool for her, seeing as the victim is a friend.

On another note, are there actually wolf packs in the vicinity of Washington, DC? That seems wrong somehow...

The third of these Bones videos suggests that Christopher Pellant is not satisfied with just murdering people now. Instead, he also wants to shift the blame...

This video raises far more questions than answers. How did Pellant make it look like Brennan was at her friend's place at the time of the murder? Why or when did this Ethan guy (the murder victim) threaten Christine? When are Brennan and Booth going to realize that they might have to take the Max Keenan disappear-for-decades route to save themselves?

Unfortunately, the questions do not find answers in the final Bones video from "The Past in the Present."

So more and more evidence has piled up against Brennan -- to the point where Booth sounds willing to hide or disregard that evidence in order to help her out. Not that this is going to matter if Brennan is, in fact, the captive of Christopher Pellant.

But is she? Wouldn't it seem likely that a man who can manipulate a surveillance video to show Brennan at a crime scene could also phone Booth with a false message? Is Booth heading into a trap?

The Bones season 7 finale, "The Past in the Present" airs on Monday, May 14 at 8pm on FOX.
