fans, it's official. This week's episode, "The Couple in the Cave," featured the introduction of Booth's new girlfriend, war correspondent Hannah Burley, and I think it's pretty safe to say that she's already shaking things up.
"Like what?" you might ask. Hmm, let me think...oh, yes, now I remember. In a mere sixty minutes, this woman has managed to totally destroy my emotional wellbeing. Awesome, right? Thank you, Bones
WARNING: Sarcasm abounds
Before I start crying thinking about Booth with Hannah and not Brennan, let me break down this week's case. The remains of two victims are found in a cave in a park, and after being taken back to the Jeffersonian for the usual Squints analysis, the female victim is identified as Hillary Fuller.
After some digging, Booth and Bones discover that Hillary was a recovering alcoholic and was spending much of her time sponsoring another recovering alcoholic named Felix, a migrant worker from Guatemala.
Back when Felix was really out of control, he bought alcohol for a minor who then lost control of her car while driving and died. Turns out this girl was the park ranger's niece, and in order to get revenge on Felix for what he had done, he sprayed him with pepper spray and pushed Hillary and him off the edge of a cliff. Super swell guy, right?
Clark is back
The always professional squintern Clark Edison has returned to the Jeffersonian from Chicago and has officially become my new hero. His shocking outburst on how even a blind man could tell there was something between Booth and Brennan and how he is amazed that the two never ripped each other's clothes off and got it on. Oh yes, absolutely priceless.
Ok, so obviously I'm not Hannah's number one fan, but one thing I do like about her arrival is that we now get to see "jealous Brennan," and man is it awesome. I mean, finally, my friends; everything has changed! It's no longer Booth pursuing Brennan; the roles have completely reversed, and I for one can't wait to see Brennan fight for her man.
Alright, yes, maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself here, but look at what we saw tonight. Brennan admitted to fantasizing about her and Booth together while she was away, and Hannah got to her so much that she went off on Clark. Of course, regressing to typical "Brennan in denial" fashion, she claimed it was all for professional reasons and laughed it off. Yeah, I totally believe that. Don't you? Hodgela
Sorry, but I just couldn't resist giving a shout out to these two lovebirds. You see, now that Booth and Brennan's getting together has been delayed yet again, I will now have to concentrate on Angela and Hodgins. And really, this won't be hard to do, because what's not to love about these two, right? Can't wait for baby Hodgela! Hannah
Alright, my friends, I have saved the most infamous topic for last. Now, where to begin? Well, of course, it is obvious that I am a die-hard Booth and Brennan fan, so obviously seeing him with Hannah kills me, but I must admit that I am glad that he's happy. I mean, Booth's been through a lot, and after being rejected by Brennan last season, you just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him it was going to be okay.
Hot Topic: What do you think of Hannah?>>
Still, with that being said, was it completely necessary to have him in bed with Hannah already? I mean, yes, Booth was gone for seven months so I totally get that part of it, but I feel like as viewers, we could have used a little more time to warm up to the idea of them together. Or in my case, somehow find a way to endure it.
Now, I don't want to end on a bad note, so I shall leave you with this. There is no doubt that it will be hard for me to watch Booth and Hannah together, but if later on, Hannah somehow manages to impact Booth and Brennan's relationship for the better, giving them the much-needed push they need to get together, then I guess I would be cool with that. And I really am trying to like her. The girl's night out with Brennan...it's a start.
