Michelle Claire Ryan was born on April 22, 1984 in Enfield, Greater London. At age ten, she was already a member of a local theatre group. Five years later she was picked for a role in EastEnders however she left the show shortly to concentrate on work in theatre and film. In 2007, she was cast as the lead in the new drama series from NBC, Bionic Woman. Ryan was also among FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2007.

Jaime Sommers is played by Michelle Ryan in the new NBC series Bionic Woman. Jaime is a bartender and struggling surrogate mother to her teenage sister and computer hacker, Becca. After a car accident that leaves her at the brink of death, Jamie's boyfriend Will decides to use cutting-edge, top-secret technology to save her life.
