returned last week with a season 3 opener that left the Henricksons with a lot of challenges ahead. Nicki (Chloe Sevigny
) started her new job though no one knows that she's really working at the D.A.'s office to learn the identities of the Jane Does testifying against her father Roman. Frankie from Juniper Creek also showed up asking Bill (Bill Paxton
) to talk to their father Frank, who has kicked him off the compound, while Bill declared that it's over for good with Ana. At the block party, Barb and Margene tried to stop Bill, who was convinced that people are now aware of their plural marriage, from spilling the beans, but Nicki took a stand, literally announcing from her rooftop that she is Roman Grant's (Harry Dean Stanton) daughter and Bill and Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn
) and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin
) deserve praise for being her friend. As they rushed to help Nicki down from the roof, Ana (Branka Katic) showed up, announcing she's wants in - on their terms.
continues with the episode “Empire.” Tonight, Bill and his family try group-dating with Ana but this comes out with mixed results. Despite a substantial expense, a dilemma in Don's family and an apparent blunder by Margene, Bill continues with his unlikely courtship of Jerry Flute. Meanwhile, Barb anxiously awaits test results from the hospital and Nicki goes to a fertility clinic already knowing the result. In attempt to find Rhonda, one of his would-be accusers, Roman puts the squeeze on Bill.
As for Sarah, she resists Scott's offer to join her in Arizona. Frankie, on the other hand, shows a new side when he takes Sarah and her friends to crash pad for young wayward polygamists. And when Frank pays a visit to Lois with new sister-wife Jodean, he ends up staying longer than expected.
