The CW has locked two more returning shows for next season and has officially ordered the first new show of the 2013-2014 season with its Vampire Diaries spin-off.

Hart of Dixie and freshman drama Beauty and the Beast have both been renewed for next season. They join Supernatural, Arrow and The Vampire Diaries

In addition, the CW has officially picked up its Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals (which fans got a preview of this week) to series. So Klaus, Elijah and the rest of the gang will be back to terrify on their own show next season.

"The Originals" Recap from The Vampire Diaries>>

Hart of Dixie will return for season 3 and remains slightly out of place given the supernatural, action tone of the five other shows on the CW's schedule for next year. Beauty and the Beast joins Arrow as a successful freshman drama, while Emily Owens, M.D. and Cult both tanked.

This still leaves the fates of The Carrie Diaries and Nikita up in the air. The CW now has six shows on tap for next season, and with 10 time slots available, the current shows may have to wait to see how many of the networks new pilots are successful.
