The CW's three new shows for the fall have one thing in common: Smallville
. The iconic CW series may have ended a year ago, but it's still at the forefront of the network. Two of the stars of Smallville
(Kristin Kreuk and Justin Hartley) appear in the new shows while the third new series is based on a superhero featured on Smallville
, Green Arrow.

There's also plenty to get excited about in this first looks at the CW's three new fall shows, Arrow
, Beauty and the Beast
and Emily Owens M.D
. Check them out for yourself.Arrow (Wednesdays at 8pm)
The promo is sparse, but it's worth it to see Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen honing his archery skills and his apparent 24-pack.
Beauty and the Beast (Thursdays at 9pm)
After watching this clip, it becomes very clear why the CW paired the show with The Vampire Diaries
. Both have a young heroine rescued by a mysterious creature, both have alleged animal attacks in the woods that aren't really animal attacks and both begin with the leading lady losing her parents (or in this case, her mom).
Emily Owens M.D. (Tuesdays at 9pm)
If this show doesn't remind you of the CW's version of Grey's Anatomy
, nothing will. It's wonderfully charming thanks entirely to its very strong leading lady, Mamie Gummer. Gummer is Meryl Streep's daughter, but I don't really need to say that because she looks frighteningly like her mother.
