Jason Bateman

American actor Jason Kent Bateman was born on January 14, 1969 in Rye, New York. The son of a flight attendant and a television director, Jason is the younger brother of actress Justine Bateman, who appeared in the sitcom Family Ties. He has worked on several television shows such as It’s Your Move, Scrubs, Silver Spoons, The Hogan Family, and St. Elsewhere, as well as supporting roles in the movies Starsky & Hutch and Arthur and the Invisibles. Jason Bateman won the 2005 Golden Globe for Best Television Comedy Actor for his starring turn in the comedy series Arrested Development.

Michael Bluth is portrayed by Jason Bateman in the television show Arrested Development. The second oldest son of the Bluth family, he’s forced to take over as both company president and head of the oddball clan after his father is arrested at the start of the series. Michael is the most stable and sensible Bluth, forcing him to deal with the rest of his relatives’ antics to his continuous dismay. He’s intelligent and a hard worker, but occasionally suffers from a superiority complex, and at times can be an unethical control freak. He threatens to leave the family out of frustration quite a bit, though in most cases he’s perfectly justified for doing so.
