What do you get when you take 13 men and women with comfortable and humdrum jobs and have them do, as the name implies, one of America's Toughest Jobs?  You get the new extreme competition series on NBC that will premiere on August 25 at 9 pm ET.

The challenges range from logging high in the Oregon forest to oil drilling on the Texas range and driving icy roads to extreme fishing.  Whatever the job is, it requires guts and stamina, and is something not for the faint of heart.  Each contestant on America's Toughest Jobs cannot dilly-dally as they have live up to the same standards as how the pros do it.  In other words, they must appear like they have been doing the job forever, despite being new to it.

At the end of each episode, each contestant will be at the mercy of their new boss and co-workers, as they will be judged on whether they succeeded or not.  Those who can't measure up are immediately sent home.  As for the prizes, the annual salary of each extreme job will be thrown into the pot until the finale, where the last one standing will take it home.

America's Toughest Jobs comes from the creator and executive producer of Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers Thom Beers, along with Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun.  It is hosted by Backyard Nation's Josh Temple and is expected to feature the most challenging, dangerous, and demanding jobs on the planet.

America's Toughest Jobs will be one of the three reality shows to make their debut this fall and is touted to compete with Stylista and Opportunity Knocks.  Its main contentions are its extreme quality and very premise.
