Tyra Banks Launches Virtual World
Wednesday, February 21, 2007
Nowadays, the virtual scene is becoming a hangout saturated for popular celebrities like Tyra Banks, former supermodel and host of America’s Next Top Model, who has now established her own 3D virtual world called "Tyra’s Virtual Studio".
“The studio is a free virtual world where you can listen to music, chat with your friends, get insider info about what’s happening at the Tyra Banks Show and just hang out,” according to the site.
The virtual online celebrity worlds have been popularized by Second Life and MTV’s Virtual Laguna Beach. The celebrity virtual world is a property of Warner Bros. produced and developed by Doppelganger Inc., the company known for the creation of PussyCat Dolls Music Lounge.
Tyra’s Virtual Studio is virtual world program which can function on Windows and Mac. It enables users to create cool and unique avatars and customize almost everything from shoes, clothes, hair to accessories. Moreover, it allows the users to express feelings like laughing and flirting to name a few, as well as interact with other people all over the world and attend exclusive events.
Produced by Telepictures Prods, Tyra’s Virtual Studio launched February 19, 2007. An interesting feature in the site is when Tyra Banks herself stops by, using her 3D version to interact with her fans. On February 12, she made her first visit and an invite to her Grammy party in cyberspace.
At present, there is no released schedule on how often the America’s Next Top Model judge will drop by her virtual studio though she claims that she is very much “hooked” on it.
