A college student from Queens, New York, Bianca Golden realized her dreams of becoming a model since she was 12 years old. She began going to open casting calls in New York City, but always ended up getting turned down. She admitted that trying out for America's Next Top Model was a very tedious process, and only a few girls were chosen to be part of it. She finally landed a spot in the reality modeling competition, and became part of Cycle 9.
The first episode of America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 brought the then 18-year-old Bianca a feud with Lisa Jackson, because Bianca believed that an exotic dancer did not have a chance at winning the reality competition. Later, Bianca encountered difficulty in getting into character for the photo shoot. On the second episode, Bianca got into a heated argument with Saleisha because Bianca called her a "borderline plus-size." Bianca also again encountered trouble with her photo shoot and eventually landed in the bottom two. In the episode entitled "The Girl Who Goes Bald," Bianca was given the most dramatic makeover, as she had her hair shaved bald. She recalled that this was a very emotional time for her, as she knew that her mother would not approve of it because her mother could not see beauty in a bald woman, let alone her bald daughter. Bianca eventually got used to it and decided to keep her hair short. In the episode entitled "The Girls Go To Shanghai," the girls were required to learn basic martial arts poses and showcase these poses in the air on high wires. However, Bianca refused to pose in the air and was thus disqualified. In the next episode entitled "The Girls Go On Go-See Adventures," the girls were sent on go-sees, and Bianca eventually won the challenge. As for her prize, her picture will be used in a campaign for the 2008 Olympics. Finally, in the episode entitled "The Girls Go To The Great Wall," the final three contenders were named, and Bianca was sent home.
