Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview.
Hey everybody, this is Gina from BuddyTV, and today I'm talking to Marvita from America's Next Top Model. Hey Marvita, how are you doing?
There were a lot of people rooting for you last cycle to make it through the semi-final round. Did you learn anything from getting eliminated so early on?
What did I learn? Last cycle, I don't know. I just was like really confused when I came back, because I didn't really know what they wanted from me. I thought that I did really good last cycle.
Yeah, and it seemed like you really were just the same person that we saw last cycle. Was there anything different, or just this time around they decided they wanted you?
It was a little bit different about me. I think, personally, because I went and did some therapy and everything and worked on me. I came back and I was a little better.
What happened on last night's episode? It seemed like every time the judges were around you they kept saying how defeated you looked. Did you feel defeated at the time?
I did not feel defeated at all. I just had one bad photo shoot on one bad day.
It seemed really weird. It seemed like they were trying to put the idea into each others' heads that you were done, that you had checked out of the competition.
No, I didn't. I think that had I had another chance I would have been fine, because all my other photo shoots I tried really hard on.
They didn't show you defending yourself and saying that you did want to be there. Did you say anything to them about it? To Jay or to the judges?
Yes I did. You know how it is.
I know how editing is. What did you say to them to try to get them to keep you around?
I tried to explain myself a little bit. I said, "You know what, I don't feel defeated. I just, you know, had a bad day." I just didn't give my 100 percent like I normally do.
When you look at all the photos, did you feel like yours was the weakest one?
No, I thought my photo was good.
Do you feel like, when you were on the show, you made friends while you were there?
Yeah, I did. I made a lot of new friends. I did, I made a lot of new friends, and I learned a lot more about myself and how to get along with girls.
They can be difficult, they can be dramatic. Was there anyone you butted heads with the most you think?
Oh, we all know I butted heads with Fatima. I don't even know how to say it. There's no getting to her. There's no getting through to her, nothing. You try to be cool with her, you try to talk to her, and still, nothing. You try to do nice things for her or anything and she'll take it, but then she'll turn on you. It's just like, you know what, I'm not even going to deal with you because you're crazy.
Do you have a favorite photo that you took this season?
I do. My favorite photo would have to be the lingerie shoot with Elle Macpherson. I love that one.
You guys really got to meet some cool people. Elle Macpherson, Vendela. What was that like for you?
It was new. I was really glad to have gotten to do that. I felt really blessed, because when do you get to just get up and meet these people? You don't. Well, I don't, I don't know about you. You probably meet a lot of famous people.
Not Elle Macpherson, not yet, at least. What's in your future, Marvita? What do you want to do now?
My future, I just want to do everything. TV, whatever. I just want to do everything. I really want an interview with Chelsea Lately. I love her, so cool.
She is great. I was wondering if you have anything you want to say to your fans?
I love you guys. Thank you so much for just rooting for me. It means a lot to me, and it's such a blessing to have people that care, and people that feel like I'm a celebrity. Sometimes I feel like, uh, I'm just Marvita. It's weird to have people walk up to me. It's so weird.
Well I just wanted to thank you for your time Marvita, and wish you good luck too. I hope we see big things from you.
Thank you so much.
