This week, cycle 9 of
America's Next Top Model wraps up and a new winner will be named. We've watched many fan favorites be sent home in favor of the finale three. We've had to say goodbye to Sarah, Lisa, and especially, Heather. If the fans had it their way, Heather would be in Wednesday's finale and win it all, which would please many. Sitting in the final three are
Jenah,
Saleisha, and
Chantal. All have had great moments throughout the season but all raise one question: Are any of them
Top Model material? Let's take a closer look at the three remaining models, to examine their weaker points and see who really does not deserve the title of
America's Next Top Model.
Why Jenah Shouldn't Win
First of all, Jenah is the best model in the bunch. She has been a consistent performer all season and, at times, has taken absolutely amazing pictures. Jenah's main problem is her personality. She's friendly, she's not warm, and she's not personable. Since heading to China, she has plummeted, landing in the bottom two twice in a row. It makes me wonder if she can handle the pressures of not only the competition, but the modeling world itself. Like her fellow Connecticut competitor Victoria this season, Jenah doesn't seem invested in the competition and won't win any Miss Congeniality awards. Tyra has often dismissed great models with bad personalities. It seems Jenah may be next on her list.
Why Chantal Shouldn't Win
Chantal has never been at the top of the pack. She has consistently performed well throughout the competition but never stood out among stronger competitors, like Heather or Jenah. She has never won a challenge and has landed in the bottom two once. The problem with Chantal is that she's not memorable. I can't remember many of her photos throughout the season and she just reminds me of any other pretty girl that I went to high school or college with. Though she has gotten stronger since the finalists went to China, is it going to become a matter of: too little, too late?
Why Saleisha Shouldn't Win
Is it really fair that Saleisha went to Tyra's TZONE camp when she was younger? On the first episode, Tyra pointed it out to the world saying, "I'm not going to pretend like I don't know you," to her when she arrived as a semi-finalist. Isn't it great publicity for Tyra to say that a girl who attended her camp grew up to become
America's Next Top Model? She has won three reward challenges and only landed in bottom two once, but is Saleisha really a budding high fashion model or is she a tool to inflate Tyra's already overblown ego?
