Survivor or a critical mistake on
The Amazing Race, our favorite players are constantly leaving before making it to the end. Such is the case on
America's Next Top Model. Tyra Banks is constantly eliminating models for all kinds of reasons, whether it be because they have a weak photo or a bad attitude or some other reason that makes her feel a certain someone can't hack it in the fashion world. Here's a look back at cycle 11's most shocking eliminations. Take a look and see if you agree!
5. Hannah
It's not that I thought Hannah deserved to go further in the competition because she most certainly did not. Not only did she have an awkward runway walk but her pictures rarely landed her at the top of the pack. No, it's more the way Hannah was eliminated - right after walking in the very first runway challenge of the season. Tyra established right then and there that wasn't playing around this season and only a handful of models have been eliminated outside of panel over the years.
4. Joslyn
If there's one thing I hate, it's when Tyra and the panel make up lame excuses to eliminate contestants. Joslyn was quite a surprise to the viewers this season. In person, she looks like a pretty girl but little did we know what beautiful pictures she could turn out. However, as quickly as the panel built her up, they cut her down. Tyra kept mentioning that she was losing some of the light that she brought to the competition. When Joslyn was eliminated instead of Elina, it was because Tyra thought she could survive outside of
ANTM. What bull!
3. Elina
Here comes another stupid reason to eliminate someone. Elina was one of the best models of the season, consistently taking beautiful pictures, but the judges had a problem with her. They constantly felt that was too controlling and never fully let her emotions show. Now, in a photo, the average viewer or consumer would have no idea. Elina was always cooperative on set, never a diva or difficult, and she took stunning pictures. She should have gone to final three without a question but Tyra had other plans.
2. Isis
Much as I applauded
Top Model for introducing viewers to the first transgendered finalist, I knew Isis wouldn't last no matter how strong a model she was. There was no way she was making it to the international destination because I felt like the show's sponsors weren't ready for a transgendered model to be pushing their products. Tyra eliminated her after a bathing suit photo shoot, criticizing her for being more concerned with her suit than on the photo itself. Uh, YEAH! She was pre-op at the time. Can you blame her?
1. Analeigh
I'm not sure if Analeigh's elimination surprised me more or the reason she was eliminated. Every
Top Model fan, whether they liked Analeigh or not, could recognize how strong she was in a commercial shoot. She had Samantha beat in that department and smoked McKey, too. So when Analeigh froze in front of the camera for her last Cover Girl commercial of the season, everyone's jaw hit the floor. We all knew she was going home before the girls even headed to panel to determine the final two. The fact that Analeigh couldn't pull herself together lands her the most shocking spot in our countdown and to this day, she can't even explain what happened.
