'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 11: Episodes 1 and 2 Recap
'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 11: Episodes 1 and 2 Recap
America's Next Top Model returned for its 11th cycle tonight with a special 2 hour season premiere.  The first episode was all about the semi-final round and narrowing the field down to 14 models who would compete this season.  In the second episode, the girls moved into their new Top Model house in Los Angeles and got to know each other.  They also were given the opportunity to sit down 1-on-1 with the judges and make a good first impression, a first for the show.  At the end of tonight, one model has already been eliminated from the competition while 13 others move on to compete for the title of America's Next Top Model.  Read on to find out more details about tonight's episodes!
America's Next Top Model is available on Amazon Prime.

Top Model Institute

The semi-finalists arrived at Top Model Institute where they were greeted by Miss J. Alexander and Mr. Jay Manuel, dressed in futuristic clothing.  The theme of tonight's episode was taking fashion, and Top Model, into the future.  The girls participated in two photo shoots, dressed in slinky catsuits.  Tyra Banks made her typical dramatic entrance, pretending to be an alien, and appearing from a silver chamber.  14 girls made it past Top Model Institute and onto cycle 11.

Isis Is A WHAT?!

The girls knew something was different about Isis when they first met her but most had no idea that she was acutally born male.  This revelation didn't sit well with many of the models, who called her a drag queen and said that this was a competition for girls.  Only a few came to her defense and accepted her for who she is.  As the show's first transgendered contestant to make it into the final casting round, Isis is determined not to let anybody get to her or stand in the way of her dreams.  To that, I say a heartfelt: GO ISIS!

Voting Is Sexy

For the season's first official photo shoot, Tyra felt it was important to speak to the youth of America and get them to realize that voting is cool and voting is sexy.  Each model was given an issue for their photo shoot from cloning to privacy to environmental rights.

The First To Go

Tyra is doing things a little bit differently this cycle and each week, the first name called out at panel will have her photo displayed as digital art in the Top Model house.  Marjorie was this week's winner!  At the bottom of this week's list were Nikeysha and ShaRaun.  ShaRaun was there because her attitude rubbed the judges the wrong way and Nikeysha had a hard time taking criticism or accepting feedback.  Tyra sent ShaRaun packing first and she fell to the floor crying when she realized that she had been eliminated.
