'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 9 Preview and Predictions
Tomorrow night, a new season of America's Next Top Model will kick off on the CW network.  The show debuts in its regular time slot, Wednesdays at 8/7c.  Tyra is back along with judges Twiggy, Nigel Barker, and J. Alexander.  The winner will receive a $100,000 contract with Cover Girl, representation with Elite Model Management, and a cover and six-page fashion spread with Seventeen magazine.

On the premiere episode, 33 semi-finalists will compete to win a coveted spot in the Los Angeles mansion the models will call home for the season.  Twenty girls will be cut, leaving 13 to compete.  Also, cycle 8 winner Jaslene Gonzalez will be making an appearance on the episode.  Those who make it to the end will be traveling to Beijing, China for their international destination.

It's hard to predict who will go home early and who will make it far based on the models' pre-season photos.  After all, they go through a huge makeover transformation and grow tremendously throughout the process.  It was slightly helpful that the CW put up interview videos to help us get to know the 13 finalists a little better.  Based on the photos and the videos, I'm doing my best to make some predictions and hope that I get a few right along the way!

One thing that helped me right off the bat was an interview with Tyra on Access Hollywood, where she said she was looking for girls who were a little less obvious as choices for a top model.  When I looked through the photos, the first one that came to mind as a competitor was 18-year-old Jenah.  Perhaps she can be like last season's Brittany Hatch, where you wouldn't expect it, but the girl will turn out some of the best photos we've seen.

Looking at others who might go far, my money is going on Kimberly, Janet, Lisa, and Saleisha.  I've been known to pick a winner or two in my day but this year it's tough, as each woman brings something very different to the table.  A few seem like they'd be better suited for a JC Penney catalog but that's not to say they won't turn around and surprise us with a high fashion look.  We'll all find out and be better apt to form opinions once we watch the season premiere tomorrow night.
