The 'American Idol' Guest Judge Report Card: Victoria Beckham
The 'American Idol' Guest Judge Report Card: Victoria Beckham
After every episode, we assess how American idol's guest judges have fared. Towards the end, we'll see if they did Paula Abdul's old slot justice. Or the show justice. Or Simon Cowell's soon-to-be-vacated slot justice. You get the idea.

Name: Victoria Beckham
Best known as: Former Spice Girl and current Mrs. David Beckham
Audition city: Boston
How did she judge? She tried to look at the good in everything, which should be weird if there's nothing good in the first place. Should've reminded me a bit of Paula, if not for the fact that she wasn't really shown much--is it just me, or was the emphasis still on Simon and Kara? Anyway, she seems to be speaking from experience, although she was so straightforward she passed off as dull and uninteresting. It was easy to forget she's there.

Did she get along with the judges? I think so. Kara and Posh were comfortable with each other. I was watching out for Posh and Simon, and there weren't any bickering, except perhaps for her "why are you rolling your eyes?" moment, which was probably scripted so she could look like she's jelling just fine.

Nasty or nice? Nice. I mean, imagine all the comments she was giving away! "You have a good vibe." "You have a good vibe." "You have a good vibe." She seems to know what she's talking about, which is a good thing, although again the editors didn't really show much of her. It seems she wanted to stay as posh as possible and not look crazy--and it's not just the British accent!

The Paula Abdul rating: 6/10.
The Simon Cowell rating: 5/10.

Anything else?
Posh is not yet done with Idol; she'll also appear at the Denver auditions. Fingers crossed by then she's gotten her groove on.
