Despite having a gloomy past, Kellie Pickler
rose to stardom and fame as she became part of the fifth season of the reality show American Idol
. And although she is faced with mounds of offers and projects, she remains grounded and modest, evident in her generosity towards charitable organizations. Moreover, her quirky personality, not to mention her pretty face, makes her an immediate crowd’s favorite.
Born on June 28, 1986 in Albermarle, North Carolina, Kellie Pickler grew up with a family with an unpleasant background, having parents frequenting the penitentiary. She attended North Stanly High School in New London, NC. In addition, she graced the Miss America circuit, winning the title of “Miss Stanly County" at age of 17 and later competed for Miss North Carolina 2004 in order to acquire a scholarship to Stanly Community College's School of Cosmetology. Disgruntled with the cosmetology curriculum, she left the course and earned her associate's degree in paralegal studies as an alternative.
Nothing but good came out of her inclusion on the reality show American Idol. Even though Pickler ranked 6th place on the popular television show, her singing career still took off, landing several projects and a record deal with a major recording company. Ultimately, an upcoming sitcom approaches the former Idol contestant.
