This week American Idol has already had one elimination with the disqualification of Jermaine Jones, but now its time to eliminate someone else. Probably.

While there's a decent chance the person with the lowest number of votes will go home on American Idol, the producers might decide to keep everyone safe due to Jones' DQ.

If you listened carefully, after the interview with Jermaine Jones, Ryan Seacrest said "the person with the lowest number of votes will be at risk for elimination." To me, that's as vague as when Phil Keoghan says "the last team to check in here MAY be eliminated" on The Amazing Race.

Still, I shall proceed as if someone is going home, and after licking my wounds from my incredibly foolish prediction last week that Jeremy Rosado would be safe by virtue of performing towards the end, I hope to redeem myself.

DEFINITELY SAFE

Joshua Ledet and Hollie Cavanagh killed it at the end and ensured their safety. Phillip Phillips, Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine also delivered solid performances and are early fan favorites, so I expect all three of them to be safe until we get down to five or six singers.

PROBABLY SAFE

Jessica Sanchez was the shining star for the first two weeks, but that's because she delivered show-stopping performances both times. This time she didn't, and it will be interesting to see if she made a big enough impression to survive a bad week of singing. Elise Testone won praise from the judges, but after being the bottom girl last week, it's hard to say she's definitely safe. And Heejun Han may be in danger according to the judges, but I think his personality is so strong that he'll get enough support to stay. Plus, if Shannon Magrane was any indication last week, being told that you're in danger is a good way not to be in danger.

MY BOTTOM 3

DeAndre Brackensick: He was a wild card pick and delivered a rather boring performance early in the show. That's three strikes against him.

Erika Van Pelt: Also a wild care, she was boring and forgettable. The bigger problem with her is that she's probably fighting for the same votes as Elise Testone, and since Elise was good, Erika will suffer.

Shannon Magrane: The judges liked her, but for the second week in a row, she bored me. She seems like a total dud with no real personality.

My Prediction: Erika Van Pelt will go home.

Carla Patton's Prediction: DeAndre, Erika and Heejun in the bottom 3. Heejun would go home, but Carla firmly believes it will be a non-elimination due to Jermaine Jones' exit.
