American Idol: All-Star Edition - The Top 12
American Idol, like all reality shows, has a wide spectrum of alumni.  There are those former Idols who have gone on to bigger and better things, those who have won awards and topped the charts.  And, then, there are those others who have flopped, been arrested, or simply disappeared from the public eye.  Having almost been through a full six seasons, there is a huge pool of former contestants to look at when asking the question: who are the best Idols ever?

On the eve of crowning the season six American Idol champion, we've decided to look back on the first six seasons with one thought in mind: if American Idol were to do an All-Star show, who would be in the top 12?  What would a dream season look like?

This is all purely speculative, but it's pretty fun to look at just how good a dream team top 12 would be.  There are two sides to the voting results we get every season.  It's not only about how good a certain singer is, it's about how that singer is compared to the other singers.  With that in mind, we're going to take our first (and probably not last) look at our fictional American Idol: All-Stars.  Obviously, there is no way to be objective about this.  It wouldn't be any fun to just put the top 2 from every season in this top 12 and call it a day.  We didn't even include every Idol winner, but we did split it into six guys and six girls to make it as authentic as possible.

The following top 12 are in no particular order.  However, once you get a chance to take a look at all of them, come back to this page and tell us what your dream top 12 would look like.  Who should we have added?  Gotten rid of?  Who would win?  Make it to the top 6?  Let us know what you think.
