American Chopper is a reality television series on The Learning Channel (the Discovery Channel's sister channel) based on the company Orange County Choppers (OCC), a custom motorcycle workshop founded by Paul Teutul, Sr. and his son, Paul Teutul, Jr. OCC is based in Montgomery, New York.
Paul Teutul, Sr. leads the gang of fabricators and mechanics in the popular show American Chopper. He works with his son, Paul Teutul, Jr., alongside fabricators and mechanics such as Vinnie DiMartino, Rick Petko, Cody Conelly, Michael Teutul, and Christian Helter. They aim to create countless custom motorbikes while the show documents their personal and promotional activities ranging from magazine photo shoots to family holidays and custom bike shows. The appeal of the show is mostly from the verbal battles between Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. Throughout the series, the two have endless arguments on different issues but more importantly regarding the work pace of Paul Jr. In addition, the contrasting behavior of each member of the team also leads to fiery but hilarious conversations as they meet deadlines for building distinct customized choppers. American Chopper is produced by Pilgrim Film & Television Inc. It airs Thursdays 9/8C on The Learning Channel.
