Bobbie Eakes as Krystal With practicall all the soaps, a staple element seems to be the constant merry go round of romantic entanglements among the characters.  Take for instance Krystal, portrayed by Bobbie Eakes on ABC's All My Children.  For one thing, Krystal has had to struggle with her feelings for two men:  Adam (played by David Canary) and Tad (essayed by Michael E. Knight).

Bobbie Eakes spoke to Soap Opera Weekly a few weeks ago about her All My Children persona's rather mixed up love life.  In the interview, the actress offered her take on Krystal's struggle to assist her husband Tad, at the same time fighting off her former hubby, Adam.  Things became messy and confusing when Adam uncovered information vital to Tad – the location of his long-lost daughter, Kate.

“She's pretty set on the game plan right now, which is to protect her daughter, Jenny, and keep the two of them away from Adam,” Eakes explained Krystal's mindset after Adam offered her a deal where he gives up Kate's whereabouts as long as she (Krystal) returns to him.  “The way to do that, in her opinion, is to devote herself to Tad and their deep friendship and affection.  Even though she definitely still has feelings for Adam, she's fighting them, all the way.  The only reason she even considered moving back in was just to find information for Tad.”

According to Eakes, Tad has no inkling of Adam's offer.

“Krystal is not sure that Adam has any information,” the actress told Soap Opera Weekly.  “She doesn't know if he's making this up as a ploy to get her back.  She doesn't want to risk Tad getting his heart broken all over again.”

“She thinks it's despicable to trade lives like that,” Eakes added in reference to Adam's double edged proposal.  “It's like trading Jenny and Kate, and she thinks it's just terrible that he's putting it that way [and that] he would withhold that information from Tad.  He thought it was a way to win her back, but it's doing the opposite.”
