Six episodes in, I still can't understand where the Dana Walsh storyline on 24 is leading us.
Sure, I trust that something will happen in the next few episodes--something that will make me understand why I should care for Dana's problems with her stalker former boyfriend Kevin and all the rhetoric about assisting robberies from within a government agency--but right now, I just don't get it. There's still no clear connection between Kevin and the bigger threat. Maybe there is no connection, but maybe it'll have a huge personal impact on Dana and her future marriage with Cole. If that's where were going, though, it wouldn't be that satisfying.
I'm thinking Kevin's somehow connected to Farhad, but there's still the matter of hoping that the whole storyline takes off soon. Right now, I'm more invested in the other storyline of the moment: Renee and Jack undercover. What do you do with a loose bomb who's possibly been sexually abused during her last operation? I won't be surprised if Renee puts everything in jeopardy.
Still, it all amounts to a ridiculously convoluted situation, one that makes victims out of everybody, no matter how hard they try. On tonight's 24, the peace process seems to be in a hopeless position, as President Taylor's intentions get questioned--that, after President Hassan's quick hard stance after an assassination attempt. All that, as Jack is forced to go deeper underground to intercept a weapons sale.
Now, unless Kevin's part of the weapons deal... well, that's not a far-off possibility, right? 24 returns tonight from 9pm on Fox.
